golden age

While most of the time my style tends to be pretty layed-back, there's a part of me that just can't resist a little bling. I recently purchased this pebbled leather "Majorelle Vulvano" YSL bag
and am loving it!!

Man Gadget: Apple iPad

If you follow latest IT development, you should noticed the hottest news lately. Yes. Apple iPad. My first impressions of this device are largely positive. Apple has once again built a product that looks good and feels great in the hand, and the familiar user interface, borrowed from the iPhone and iPod touch, is perfectly suited to the bigger screen. The iPad whizzes along, opening applications, re-sizing web pages, and zooming in and out of maps almost instantaneously.

It's a great, fun gaming platform, and it's lovely to view full-size web pages while browsing the internet. Developers, no doubt, are already rubbing their hands with glee about the apps and services they could tailor specifically for this device.

As Steve Jobs said during his keynote, if you're going to create a third category of device, between the smartphone and the laptop, then it needs to be better than either for certain tasks. In many areas, this is true for the iPad -- web browsing is much better on the iPad than the iPhone, just because of the bigger screen, and physically flicking through photos, music and movies is just more enjoyable on the iPad than a laptop.

Apple has already sold out its initial supply of iPads, which is going to be delivered on April 3rd. If you make an order now, you will have to wait until April 12th. Apple has only started delivering Wi-Fi enabled iPads. If you don't mind to wait slightly longer, 3G enabled iPads will be ready and ship by late April.

Eco Fashion: HUGO Fragrances Initiative

HUGO Fragrances is delighted to announce the launch of ‘One Fragrance, One Tree’, a new sustainability initiative inspired by the increasingly eco-conscious outlook of HUGO Fragrances consumers. For each special edition pack of HUGO Element and HUGO Man fragrance produced, one tree will be planted in the Amazon rain forest in Peru .

To help raise awareness of this cause in the UK , Hugo Fragrances has commissioned 5 artists to create their own eco-friendly interpretation of an urban jungle. Designs will be painted on 100% recyclable card in the form of large pop up trees. With creative support from the artists, people will be encouraged to make their own mark by painting blank trees that will be on display in 5 cities throughout the country.

The tour launched in London’s Covent Garden on Wednesday 17th March and travels to Bluewater in Kent (19th – 21st March); Bullring in Birmingham (26th – 28th March) Meadow Hall in Sheffield (2nd, 3rd and 5th April) and Centre MK in Milton Keynes (9th – 11th April) before returning back to Covent Garden on 15th April for a grand finale, where the pop up trees will turn the cobbled pavements of Covent Garden into an urban jungle for the day.

kiss the sun

Sorry it's been a while since our last post, but the weather in LA has been so amazing that all I wanna do is be outside (plus, I love that I can finally wear my new hot pink Chelsea sandals by Elizabeth and James). These are some pics of Matt and I from the other day when we rode our bikes down to the Venice boardwalk. It's one of my all time favorite places to people watch and no matter how many times I go, it's never boring.

Joy Harmon in Cool Hand Luke

I finally watched the infamous Paul Newman movie, Cool Hand Luke the other night. This scene is of Joy Harmon aka "Lucille" washing her car. So risque for the time.

Man Fashion: Men's Shorts for Spring 2010

Summer is just at the corner, and the most popular wardrobe I am eying now is men fashion shorts. Honestly, men’s shorts are now comparable with women’s lingerie when it comes to fashion, popular demand and not to mention, it's sexiness in the eye of women.

They are also available in different styles and colors just like ladies’ garments are. Because of its evident popularity, several brands are producing more and more designs. It has become so popular that men’s shorts in 2010 are proof that men are going stylish with all their piece of clothing.

Here is my shortlisted pants I plan to add to my wardrobe. What do you think?

Polo Ralph Lauren Men's Fatigue Shorts - White

Modern utilitarian shorts, designed with an easy fit and cargo details in a lightweight linen/silk blend. Adjustable side tabs Medium rise Button fly Cargo, side slash, back patch pockets Inseam.

If go with this pair of shoe, will be the perfect match, with amounts less than $15. (huge 67% saving)  :)

clean and simple

There is something so stunning about a clean, simple look like this one. It's the epitome of modern elegance and I just can't get enough. I found this picture of Ashley on Olsens Anonymous and just had to share it.

Mens Fashion: Topman Design Fall/Winter 2010 Collection

Contributed by Charlie

After launching the MAN event ten years ago. Topman Design has gone on its own and London Fashion Week saw the first stand alone Topman Design show. MAN was set up by Topman as a way of portraying upcoming menswear designers, which back then included Topman Design.

The show (held at Somerset House) showcased the latest collection and its European City influences, the collection featured some of the most wearable designs that the in-house design team have produced since their launch in 2005. Oversized tee’s and camouflage prints paved way for the wool jackets and the unstructured male fashion the brand hopes to coin. But by far the stealer of the show was the paper-bag trousers, similar to those seen on Jaeger catwalk.

The show definitely put menswear back on the fashion map, throughout London and due to Topman Designs worldwide presence (available in Tokyo, Hong Kong, America and Sydney) the brand is building a reputation with fashion packs on several different continents.

steve madden giiaa boots

I've just added the Giiaa ankle boots by Steve Madden to my ever growing shoe collection. They are nearly identical to the pricey ones made by Candela, I mean you almost can't tell the difference. Love when that happens!
