A Hermès diamond-encrusted crocodile skin Birkin Bag sold for $203,150 setting the record as the world’s most expensive handbag sold at auction. Initial estimates priced the Hermès bag to sell for about $80,000, three others sold between $80,000 and $113,000. The sale took place in Texas on Tuesday and the purchaser is only known as an anonymous private collector. The price included a buyer’s premium of 19.5 per cent. |
